Decorating for the holiday season is one of the best parts about this time of year. One of the not-so-fun parts: cleaning it all up! Here are a few ways to help make the process a little easier.
Trees and Wreaths
If you have an artificial tree, don’t take it apart for storage! And best yet — even if it’s not pre-lit, keep your lights on! It’s worth the sacrifice of space in your attic or garage to keep the tree assembled. Be sure you take off the delicate ornaments first.
With linens, it’s important to clean them right away because any stain will oxidize over time. Stick dryer sheets in between your linens and remember to never store the linens in a garage or attic.
Storing Christmas Ornaments
If you didn’t save the box your ornaments came in; you can store them in dry egg cartons, or in plastic sandwich bags wrapped in paper towels. This will help protect any fragile or glass ornaments.
Don’t let your lights be tangled throughout the year. First, dispose of any damaged bulbs, then wrap the lights around a coffee can or a cardboard piece. Now you can conveniently package this into a larger box for the following Christmas season.
